![]() Or his very soul, and he seeks to replace it. The Truth creates the Maker, the Maker creates you (humans), and you, in turn, become the new Truth, and everything is recreated.Īs for what the player gives up for the power of the soul-rending arrow- Perhaps it was his humanity. Now scattered amongst the ruins and guarded by the idle titans charged with their care, a solitary hero armed with but a single arrow is once again assembling shards of the Titan Soul in a quest for truth and power. The Maker mentions that everything comes full circle, and it does. Between our world and the world beyond lie the Titan Souls, the spiritual source and sum of all living things. But as you progress on to the true ending, after extinguishing the sum total of literally all life, you seek to destroy and claim Truth itself.īut you cannot destroy Truth, and at the very end, we see that it is still very much alive. The Maker even mentions that the others that came before you, that became Titans themselves, didn't have your capacity for killing. I'm not sure if it's possible to increase deadzone in game/configurations or if it's hardcoded and not possible to change, but x360ce (xbox 360 controller emulator) has option to set deadzone for controllers and seems to. The first ending is just the next step in the player's incredible thirst for power, or knowledge, or something, without any restraint. That's because game has analog sticks' deadzone low enough to register even slightest moves and move character accordingly. Each one of them representing another facet of life, and upon killing them, erasing them from this borderworld. And like this, we end up with the groundwork for all of the Titans you face in the game. Some, like Avarice, are the total of many souls, defined by a single attribute- Greed. Knight Elhanan, for example, was completely transformed upon death, becoming that which he had spent his life hunting- Another Titan. The remaining Titans are the transfigured remains of those that have come before, referred to as "lost souls." Some of them were human. As a result of this chaos, there is no guardian for the second gate, and it instead opens once enough of the other Titans are slain.Īnd lastly, Gol-Set- "Guardian of the Eternal Gate." This gate is Truth. Presumably, Gol-Qayin murders Gol-Hevel, and is banished to "hell" (Or whatever you want to call the lava place) for his sins. They are light-skinned, maroon-haired, and seemingly young, and wear a blue shirt and brown shorts. We have the first Guardian, Gol-Iath, who, for whatever reason, split himself into four other beings (Sludgeheart, Eyecube, Brainfreeze, Gol-Iath himself) to guard the first gate, blocking entrance to this world.Īfter Gol-Iath were the second and third Guardians- Gol-Hevel and Gol-Qayin. This was the Titan Soul.Īmong these other Titans were four guardians, tasked with watching over this world of life. After the Maker, the Soul was created next from Truth, and it was this Soul that created all other Titans. It started with the Truth (Essentially, God), which spawned the Maker- This Titan gave birth to all of mankind, so in essence, the Maker is the sum total of all humans. The land Titan Souls takes place in is the world "between our world and the world beyond", where the collective Titan souls make up the sum of all living things.
